As we reach the halfway point of the season, I wanted to share some highlights, thank those making it possible, and let you know how you can continue supporting the Club’s success.
1st XI
Our 1s have made a strong start in Division 3, with 6 wins from 9 games, sitting 5th in a tightly packed table – promotion is still well within reach.
Atharva Pingulkar has been in superb form, scoring 422 runs at 47, including a match-winning 108 chasing 277 against Chislehurst & West Kent. He’s currently 2nd in the league run charts.
2nd XI
After a slow start, the 2s have rallied with back-to-back wins, lifting them out of the relegation zone into 8th.
Arran Dhesi leads the way with 217 runs at 36 (5th in the league), while Alex Corrie and Vigneswaran Rajendran share top bowling honours with 11 wickets each.
3rd XI
A balanced season so far: 4 wins and 4 losses, putting them firmly mid-table with promotion still in sight.
Bowling has been their strength, with Shimul Rahman (19 wickets), Benedict Forster (14), and Andy Hamilton (13) all in the league’s top 10 wicket-takers.
4th XI
The story of the season so far! With 6 wins from 7 games, the 4s sit 2nd in the table with a game in hand. Promotion to Division 13 is within touching distance.
Kieran Walrond has been instrumental with the bat, scoring 189 runs at 38, ranking 3rd in the league.
5th XI
Thanks to phenomenal recruitment and growth, we fielded a 5th team for the first time since 2006 on 28th June. A huge achievement for the Club given how recently we were struggling to run three teams. Here’s to seeing them out again soon.
Sunday 1st XI
Led by Akbar, they’ve notched up 10 wins and just 1 loss. Atharva continues his form here too (324 runs), with Richard Golbourn (14 wickets) leading the bowling.
Sunday 2nd XI
Their first season back has been tough results-wise, but they’re offering vital opportunities for juniors and senior members needing extra match practice – a win-win for Club development.
Juniors
The Junior section is thriving under Andrew Caunce. This year, we expanded to include an U17 team in the North Kent Junior League alongside U9-U15 age groups.
We’ve also run the ECB AllStars and Dynamos programmes, introducing cricket to an additional 72 children aged 5-11. Sundays are buzzing with young cricketers – a massive thanks to our coaches, match managers, and volunteers for making it happen.
