1st XI - 26th June 1926 - Win vs Battersea CC at Battersea Park. Midland Bank 177 (TR Kirkpatrick 57) Battersea 107 (HTO Smith 6-42).
The Bank batted first before a big crowd in Battersea Park. After a poor start, T. R. Kirkpatrick batted very well in making 57 runs, receiving useful support from F. Footit (24) and E. A. Krarup (27). The tail "wagged," and the total reached 177.
Our opponents found H. T. O. Smith (6 wickets for 42) in deadly form with the ball, and despite a good innings by J. S. B. Gentry, of Surrey (34), and G. Swift (33), were dismissed for 107.
